Casitas Springs is a quiet, unincorporated community nestled in Ventura County, approximately 1.2 miles east of Lake Casitas and positioned with easy access from Ventura through use of the Ventura River and Ojai Valley Trails by bike or foot and Highway 33 by car. Historically known as Arroyo de Las Casitas (“creek of the little houses”) since 1864, the area boasts a population of just over 1,000 residents. The community is recognized for its scenic eucalyptus-lined highways and its historical significance as the former residence of country music legend Johnny Cash from 1961 to 1967.
The Casitas Springs Community Center, located at 8437 Edison Drive, serves as a central hub for local gatherings and events. The center features two rooms; one large and one small—capable of accommodating up to 216 guests. Amenities include a full kitchen and is equipped with tables and chairs for use by renters. The facility is available for rent daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a rental fee of $275 and a mandatory $275 security deposit.
